The vegetable garden that chef Felip Llufriu cares for on the patio of Omm Hotel nourishes Moo restaurant's gastronomic dishes.
Since it opened five years ago, Moo has become one of the most fresh and innovative gastronomic restaurants in Barcelona. The exquisiteness of high cooking and rigorous selection of wines has merited one star from the Michelin Guide and this unique space has become an indispensable place for lovers of quality. Moo restaurant offers a culinary proposal thought of as a gastronomic game, and based on its own vision of Catalan cooking.
Different types of lettuce, tomato, pumpkin, edible flowers – whose petals are used in desserts – and aromatic herbs such as chocolate mint, maria luisa and lavender are some of the vegetables that Felip Llufriu grows on the interior patio of Moo, Omm Hotel’s restaurant located right in the heart of Barcelona.
The interior patio that unites Passeig de Gràcia with Rosselló Street has taken on a new lease of life thanks to the Menorcan chef who has developed it into a vegetable garden for the use of ingredients used in Moo’s dishes. Knowing he can rely on fresh ingredients, Llufriu wants to accentuate flavours and emotions of in-season products just picked from the garden.
The garden demonstrates the care and naturalness that characterizes the service and culinary recommendations of Moo. Being close to the land in an urban environment makes this restaurant an indispensable place for lovers of quality, Catalan cooking and the enjoyment of the senses.
The chef, Felip Llufriu, is a young and well-known cook who has recently presented gastronomic Barcelona to New York through Tourism of Barcelona. He has also participated in the program Cooking Nights at La Pedrera, along with the best chefs of the country. He oversees the wine cellar of Roger Viusà who, in 2008, was chosen best wine waiter in Europe and second best in the world.
Stockholm’s Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities opens this autumn with a Japanese fashion show that starts with the kimono and in a playful way springs into various Japanese subcultures and fashion trends of today. East meets west, old meets new, real meets fake.
The exhibition features exquisite vintage kimonos that puts dazzling textile techniques on display, mixed with creations by some of Japan’s hottest young designers and artists – from Takyua Angel’s spectacular creations to street-smart childish designs by Shojono Tomo. Handmade accessories for young geisha’s are shown side by side with the graffiti artist Shin Tanaka’s murals and hip hop origami figures inspired by the elaborate patterns of ancient kimonos.
The exhibition is a joint arrangement with Rekostylisterna: Aia Jüdes and Sanna Gebeyehu.

The lions in the Selous Game Reserve in southern Tanzania are present in huge numbers; an estimated four thousand lions. They are common everywhere in the northern part of the Selous; and as luck would have it this is where almost all the tourist camps are to be found. If you plan to have a lion safari in the Selous you will not be disappointed. However, they are not so easy to spot in this reserve as they are in the open grass land of the Serengeti in the north of Tanzania. The dense vegetation is the perfect cover for the shy Selous lion to take shelter and hide from the safari vehicles.
