Part 6 brings you a real Viennese delight from the Hollmann Beletage in Vienna.

Advent Advent! With the Hollmann Beletage you can see marvelous Vienna at its best.  Their Christmas special, bookable on their website or stays from 20th until 27th December includes a two-hour guided walking tour revealing the secrets of Vienna’s Old Town. Not just that, but you’ll also be treated to a daily 6 course gourmet Breakfast, free WiFi (for those of you who can’t live without being connected), a daily assortment of fresh fruit delivered to your room, free use of the Sauna and as it’s Christmas, you even get a Christmas present from them.

Part 5 brings you delicacies from the Hotel des Academies et des Arts in Paris.

This year the Hotel des Academies et des Arts opened a chic, unusual and welcoming tea room in the hotel. On the menu are macaroons by Pierre Hermé, a man who needs no introduction as his creativity and daring have left his colleagues in the world of patisserie speechless with awe. His foie gras macaroons and his chocolate African masks and statuettes are memorable indeed. With pleasure at his only guide, Pierre Hermé has invented a totally original world of tastes, sensations and pleasures.

To accompany Monsieur Hermé’s delicious creations, the hotel offers a selection of teas from “Le Palais des Thés”, which sources its tea directly from tea-producing areas in Asia and Central America.

To celebrate the festive season the hotel offers a “Bubbles  and Macaroons degustation” for €55 including a bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne and a Christmas selection of Pierre Hermé macarons. Gijs Bakker does Roomservice

Today sees the opening of Gijs Bakker’s exhibition at the Roomservice Gallery in Barcelona, the first exhibition in spain of the furniture of the dutch industrial designer.

Gijs Bakker was trained as a jewellery and industrial-designer at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and the Konstfack Skolen in Stockholm, Sweden. His pieces, revolutionary for their time, are now classics of international design. Read the rest of this entry »
