Budapest’s flourishing cultural scene has a rapidly growing reputation for innovation and imagination. The city pulses with creative energy and drive. One theatre group in particular is making a name for themselves in the Hungarian capital and throughout Europe.
The Misero Prospero Project is a Budapest based group founded in 2007 by dancer and choreographer Daniela H. Faith along with playwright and stage director Carlos Rodero. Working with theatrical imagery and movement the company blends a number of performance elements in their productions. Faith was born in Mexico and later went on the study dance in New York. She worked with various projects in Mexico and Spain before moving to Hungary. Hamburg based design studio designaffairs has just released the promising “Swirl”. While it looks like a giant toy ball covered in eye-catching colours, it is actually much more practical.
Designed to relieve the burden of washing clothes Swirl can make a huge local impact in countries where this seemingly simple task requires a great deal of exertion. Often water sources are located some distance away and the physical burden of carrying the laundry can be overwhelming. Every element of Swirl’s clever design was carefully considered to give the user a variety of options for Swirl’s operation. Read the rest of this entry »
As a part of our own recent collaboration with Swiss icons FREITAG, they decided that one of their limited edition WYSS R099 bags should take a little journey with us. One lucky person will get their hands on it in their bedroom at co-collaborators the Greulich Hotel in Zurich (to keep, of course).
The WYSS R099 bag from FREITAG is a homage to journalist Laure Wyss who founded one of Switzerland’s first (and best) weekly supplements in 1970, DAS MAGAZIN. The bag was inspired by a journalist working for DAS MAGAZIN in Switzerland who approached FREITAG to make him a bag suited to the needs of a journalist…the DAS MAGAZINE WYSS R099 was born. Made from vintage, unicolored truck tarpaulins, toting metal buckles and a completely new, antiquated appeal, the bag is a tribute to the late 1800’s where modern journalism was born and horse messengers rode across the countryside to deliver the latest news.
So you want one, do you?
Register yourself for our BULLETINs and one lucky person will get all this:
1 x FREITAG WYSS R099 bag
1 x Two nights, with breakfast at the Greulich Hotel
1 x Dinner for two at the Greulich Restaurant
Go on, sign up…you know it makes sense.
If you can’t wait to win it, you can buy one of the limited edition bags from FREITAG directly. Likewise, you can book a room at the Greulich Hotel too.
