At the moment it’s hard to mention anything German without bringing up football, but there is so much more happening here in the Hauptstadt. Berlin fashion week kicks off on July 7th, and a bevy of beauties will be parading down catwalks, presenting the threads we’ll all be seeing in the coming months.
With the environment on politician’s lips and everyone’s mind, the trend of Eco fashion has seen a huge rise in popularity lately. It’s finally moving away from felted purses and Birkenstocks to some seriously desirable styles. From the 9th of July to the 1st of August you’ll be able to check out some of the latest environmentally friendly creations from Magdalena Schaffrin, Esther Perbandt, Frau Wagner, Isabell de Hillerin, Format, Studio Ecocentric, Anne Wanders und Mikenke in the CREATE BERLIN Showroom.
Photographic works from Steven James Scott’s “Dirty Bird” project will set the stage for the apparel. The Berlin fashion photographer critically examines the fashion world through his lens, questioning our gaze, asking if there aren’t other things that should be occupying our thoughts.
The neighboring sieben&siebzig will be hosting their own event on the 8th and 9th of July. From 11 to 7 each day they’ll be presenting the best of the Eco lifestyle. Accessories, natural cosmetics, and organic food from Vilde Svaner, KSIA, tgkp, San Floriano and Angel will be available to indulge your senses.
Guess who else is in the neighborhood? You got it – White Line Hotel’s Lux 11. In the heart of Berlin’s most fashionable district, Lux 11 is the place to strut. While you’re there you can check out the local designers, enjoy amazing meals at Luchs and relax in rooms with some serious views. Lux 11 also houses the Ulf Haines store, carrying a range of international and German men and women’s wear and accessories.
