Holly Golightly has been referred to as a little treasure in the centre of Copenhagen. This intimately elegant fashion store offers a selected range of international labels within a local selection of Scandinavian labels. Today we are interviewing the founders Marlene Bernth and Barbara Werner, who, as some have said, are so stylish as to have been seen riding their bikes on high heels.
FM: How did Holly Goligthly start?
HG: The shop was founded in 2001 and focused primarily on ready-to-wear lines. However, a few years later we decided to open a second store, with a greater focus on accessories. We have yet to see, or rather reveal, what our third shop due to open in January 2012 will offer.
FM: What is Holly Golightly about?
HG: Our credo lies in offering a unique and personal touch of high-end international fashion labels, combined with quality service in a highly aesthetic and intimate environment. We don’t conform to age restrictions; we would rather provide for all women marked by impeccable taste.
FM: Which brands do you represent?
HG: We are very loyal to our brands, but at the same time we are always looking out for new talent. We currently represent Alaia, Aurelie Bidermann Jewels, Azzaro, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Chloe, Christian Louboutin, Dana Italian Undergarments, Faliero Sarti Scarfs, Gallo Hosiery, LaLa Berlin Scarfs, Marc Jacobs, Marni, Proenza Schouler, Rick Owens, Stone Jewelry, Sys Bjarnhof Jewels. However, recently we have also taken on Premiata and Gianvito Rossi.
FM: And finally, what is your next step?
HG: Our next big step is the expansion of our ready-to-wear branch. We’ll feature rotating exhibitions of some of the world’s most recognised fashion designers, such as Azzedine Alaï, Balenciaga, Rick Owens, Marni, Chloé and Dolce Gabbana. Furthermore we are opening an Aesop shop-in shop in our accessories branch.
Holly Golightly is located at St. Regnegade 2 (accessories) and Gl. Mønt 2 (clothing), Copenhagen.
Be sure not to miss Holly Golightly on your next trip to Copenhagen, and while you’re practicing your own graceful high-heeled bicycle dismounts, be sure to make your last of the day outside White Line Hotels Edit Avenue Hotel.
