Hamburg Kreative is here. The new 396-page book, produced by NBVD Publishers, presents the crème de la crème of Hamburg’s creative media scene. Advertisers, designers, illustrators, photographers, new media artists, and freelancers are all presented in the newly formatted book.
The goal of Hamburg Kreative is to present an overview of the city’s expansive creative landscape. The first edition was published in 2004 with 160 pages. It received so much exceptional feedback, from readers and the designers alike, that it’s grown to over twice the size. After continuous renewal and improvement, the 2010 version is the best one yet. With well over 150 ‘creatives’ listed, the book can be used as a contact list of who’s who in the Hansastadt and presents newcomers along side established firms.
Design firms Carte Blanche Design Studios, Shaken not Stirred and Future Brand are just a few of the listings as well as photographers like Sven Jacobsen and freelancers such as Astrid Stöfhas, and that’s not to mention the illustrators and new media designers. Although the book is in German, it shouldn’t be a problem for non-German speakers – there are plenty of images to inspire you.
If you want to experience the creative side of Hamburg for yourself, the best place to stay is White Line Hotel’s East. With a spa, bars and lounges even the locals love (not to mention the celebrities!) and an incredible Asian fusion restaurant, every sense is sure to be fulfilled. Don’t forget to check out the dates for East’s Backstage Kitchen Party, where you can watch as head chef Tell Wagner whips up your dishes and hang out with specially invited sommeliers extraordinaire.
