Jetset Hedonism

A new favourite of ours – MirageMagazine, has just released its second edition into the wild.  An international fashion and swimwear magazine inspired by the worlds of jetset hedonism, old school attitude and a certain adolescent nervousness, MirageMagazine feels like it’s always existed. It‘s young and wild, yet nostalgic. Structured in an avantgarde French design style in order to facilitate the unexpected, it features Art & Fashions most respected image makers.

Inspired by a strange and almost unsettling longing for something never known or experienced, its a wonderful collaboration between Cape Town-based photographer Henrik Purienne (ID, Arena, Adidas, as well as various music videos) and German Creative Director and Editorial Designer Frank Rocholl (Audi, Smart, Hugo, Lancome, Levis, Jil Sander).

The latest issue features Joseph Szabo, Opium, The Black Angels, CrashPads, Casio, FrenchNovo, Pulp, Bally, Just Jaeckin and more in a themed concept of 60s/70s jetset hedonism, meets 21 Century voyeurism.  Mirage juxtaposes this world with young photography, reports on “up and coming personalities” from music, fashion and architecture, as well as trend labels. The list of contributing fashion photographers reflects a who-is-who of the current scene.
