French patissier-chocolatier Pierre Hermé – whose delicious macaroons grace the Hotel des Academies et des Arts in Paris,  is opening a boutique patisserie in London this year.  The shop, opening in Knightsbridge in the spring, will be called Pierre Hermé Paris.

Hermé, who in addition to his four Paris boutiques and the presence at the Hotel des Academies et des Arts, also has a high-street presence in Tokyo.

Hermé has been credited with expanding the horizons of macaroon making, introducing flavours such as rose and pistachio. Hermé’s macaroons and chocolates will be on sale at Selfridges in London from the 5th February until the Knightsbridge boutique opens in the spring.  Can’t wait?  Sample his macaroons at the Chez Charlotte Tea Room in the Hotel des Academies et des Arts in Paris.
