The Cyclades Greek Edit. Discover Kea, Santorini, Folegandros and Mykonos

Wise, etched by life, endearing, warm, familiar and simply enchanting, everyone should meet a Maria. There is always a special relationship kindled on a trip to the Cyclades, each island packed with charismatic locals, each with their own folktale, fabled gods and rooted culture.  We pinned a few images that sort of got us all yearning for a return trip before the season ends.

The Cyclades sit pretty much at the centre of the blue Aegean whilst being comfortably close to each another, they harbour a very distinguishing tone.

A perfect holiday bolthole into mid October with some late blasts of summer.

Santorini without the crowds - a pic from the retreat Aenaon Villas overlooking the Caldera

Santorini sitting at the edge of the Caldera munching on the sweetest tomatoes at the Aenaon Villas

We have an edit of four very different places to stay from the polished designer hotel, hip boutique pads, rustic urbanity to private luxury…all packed with Greekness.

What is a vacation to Greece without a tipple of this stuff.

Loving Greece and the islands is real easy. Curl up under the shade of a Eucalyptus tree or talk to the donkey enroute to the ancient ruins on KEA, chill & glam-it poolside in jetset MYKONOS, feel the warm winds from across the Caldera on SANTORINI while tucking in to the sweetest tomatoes, or just sit bead flicking in the old Chora over a Nescafe Frappe on unspoilt FOLEGANDROS.

Mykonos Town view of the famous Little Venice - a lovely place to get lost meandering the streets just up from the glam Mykonos Theoxenia Hotel

Kea Cyclades Greece - An unspoilt beach on the island definitely in the slow lane, just like the contemporary Kea VIllas.

Folegandros Greece - Scene from the famous old Chora packed with little squares to idle away the days. Stay at the equally rustic Themonies Suites.

Go find yourself a warm hearted Maria, a charismatic Stelios, a bubbly Alexandra or an old wise Thanos.
