If you’re design minded, or just want to have a great night out, this Friday head to the V & A (Victoria and Albert) Museum in London. Both the Architects Build Small Spaces and the Grace Kelly exhibition will be open until 22:00 on the evening of July 30th, and the museum will be celebrating the first V&A Summer Camp.
The Summer Camp is a free and open to the public, two-day bash, exploring design within the context of the museum. There’ll be a series of workshops, talks, performances, and events, hosted by UK designers.
The Summer Camp will give you a chance to sip cocktails while enjoying live folk music under an outdoor tent, learn how to make movie sound effects in a workshop, or examine the typography of objects from business cards to record albums.
Not to be missed is the evening at the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion. From midnight to 8am artists, architects, and musicians will examine the mapping of sleep and the “psychedelic qualities of insomnia” in one giant sleepover for adults.
There is an expansive range of imaginative events taking place, you can check out the full program on the V & A website here.
Continue your exploration of design at the Town Hall Hotel & Apartments in London’s East End. The hotel maintained the Edwardian frontage and neo-classical façade while creating a completely sumptuous interior space, a visionary design challenge undertaken to mirror the creative scene of the surrounding neighbourhood.
