One of favourite streets to explore, dine, shop, chill and be seen on, has to be Barcelona’s famous Passeig de Gràcia. Known for Gaudi’s unmistakeable architecture, flagship stores, designer boutiques and foodie hotspots, this stretch of glamour is adding another foodie hat with its ‘Gourmet Avenue’ this March.
Some of the biggest culinary names including the famous Joan Roca form a string of gourmet pit-stops over the 10-day event and what’s really great is that you can dabble from Michelin to imaginative casual hangouts, a total of 20 restaurants will participate.
Highlight along this gastro route is the flagship Roca Moo at the hotel OMM – Barcelona’s design legend and ‘cool peeps’ hangout. Here the 4-hand-dinner will be presented by food heroes: Joan Roca & Rafa Panatieri. This star duo has created a special dinner menu served with those ‘just perfect’ wines - probably the hottest ticket in town so book early. Otherwise, for a casual bite, try the specially created “Crispy Squid Sandwich” in the Roca Bar.
Of course, parent Grupo Tragaluz are no strangers to the food scene and tucked along the Paseo de Gràcia are two more of their insider restaurants that you should know about. Part of the platillos (small dishes) route, restaurant Mordisco has created an absolutely to-die-for cheesed Buthan Potatoes, a simple dish of taste-bud delight. Opt also for fine-dining restaurant Tragaluz, which has created a Mediterranean tasting menu from €40 – go on a taste journey.
Book a design room at the luxuriously cool Hotel Omm Barcelona and you can just meander through this ‘Passeig de Gourmets’ from the 8th March until the 18th.
