“Elton John has a pair.  Madonna has 6 and the king of Morocco – he has 42!”

ic! berlin. Glasses with Heart.

Meet Ralph Anderl, the man behind Berlin eyewear legends ic! berlin.  There’s no doubt that his firm epitomizes style, confidence and individuality. Their daring runway walk made a big splash at Berlin’s Fashion Week, furthering their reputation as a firm that’s not afraid to take risks.

ic!’s innovative design exudes a simple polished approach to life.  The sheet metal and acetate glasses have no screws, relying instead on a hinge spring system.  The functional, minimalistic approach means that no part of the glasses can lose its individual parts, yet each piece is completely replaceable.   The company hand finishes every frame in their Berlin office and warehouse, which was once a baking factory.  They take pride in their exclusive use of German producers, meaning that their “Made in Germany” stamp is 100% true.  ic! has won a bevy of awards for their leading designs both in Germany and abroad.

In addition to becoming a White Line Hotels Collaborator, ic!  has recently made several very exciting announcements.  One is the release of “trés chic”, a cutting-edge line of women’s eyewear.  Trés chic is designed for women by the women of ic! Berlin.  The latest line of eye trends is just as self -assured, feminine and independent as the designers.  The collection consists of 7 metal styles, inspired by vintage looks from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, each one named for a day of the week and 3 plastic styles named after inspirational and influential women – Camille, Peggy and Gertrude.  The glasses haven’t yet been released and are right now being presented for the first time at MIDO, the international eyewear exhibition in Milan.

The best part?  Keep checking in with the White Line Hotels blog – there’ll be a giveaway of these sure-to-be-iconic glasses soon.

We C!, the company’s charity project, teamed up with 31 international artists for Berlin’s fashion week.  Modelling the t’s were beauties such as Renate Küerten, Roberta Konrath and Katrin Thormann, among others.  The artist designed t-shirts presented at fashion week will go on sale on ic!’s newly launched website www.wehavenothing.com in the coming days.  ic! is generously donating all proceeds to a Brazilian social project, providing visual aid to persons of low income.
